Business Improvement Techniques

The overall aim of Business Improvement Techniques is to create a positive culture of continuous improvement in a company through the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes of its employees. This is achieved through the following objectives:

The development of a team-based approach to business improvement either for existing teams or multi-disciplinary teams formed for the purpose of training and made up, deliberately, of individuals from different departments.

Teaching of ‘lean’ concepts including ‘5S’, ‘Visual management’, ‘Kaizen’, ‘Flow Processing’, ‘Decision Making’, and ‘Problem Solving’ techniques.

Identification of real world business improvements – specific improvements in cost, waste management and productivity.

Implementation of improvements using lean techniques identified above.

Measurement of improvements to demonstrate true value.

Assessment of candidates to award them a NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Business Improvement Techniques (B-IT)

Engineering / Manufacturing Qualifications

Bespoke courses developed to meet company requirements:

The Adult Learning team carry out a number of Adult Apprenticeship ranging from Food Manufacture, Mechanical Manufacture, Fabrication & Welding, Maintenance, Automotive, Rail Engineering and many other disciplines.

Adult Apprenticeships are a minimum of 1 year (366 Days) .

The majority of qualifications are fully funded by the Skills Funding Agency.

All qualifications are approved either by EAL or City & Guilds.
