General Description

As a Business Administration Apprentice you will work towards a Level 3 City and Guilds qualification, whilst learning about how businesses work, including customer service, purchasing and accounting.

Main Duties

Summary of role.

Our Business Administrators support our teams in every aspect of administration and organisational management. They provide a crucial service to our business, undertaking a wide range of activities using company policies and systems.

This is a great opportunity to come and join the Sterling team, as we significantly grow the business.

The apprenticeship is a two-year course with the opportunity to continue on to a higher level.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Business Administration Apprentice you will work towards a Level 3 City and Guilds qualification, whilst learning about how businesses work, including customer service, purchasing and accounting
  • Your role will involve administration tasks including diary management, business travel, meeting and event organising, coordinating customer visits, customer audit preparation, documentation creation and collation, and departmental support, amongst others.
  • Key to your success, will be the ability to develop relationships across all levels within the organisation, time management and organisational skills, as well as enthusiasm and commitment
  • The apprenticeship will be a combination of work based learning and college/remote studying with workplace visits. You will receive support from our apprenticeship training provider, as well as a work based mentor

Desired Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 or A-C in Maths and English and Science (Scottish National 5 A-C or standard grades 1-3) or AS-A Level (Scottish Highers). We will interview on predicted grades.

We also require candidates to be competent with IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Future Prospects

Full time position on completion of the Apprenticeship.
