As an employee-in-training, the apprentice must exhibit an enthusiasm and aptitude for Science. They display an eagerness to build their knowledge and are willing to put in the effort to develop their skills.
Apprenticeships typically involve on-the-job training as well as attending training courses.
Health and safety regulations are important and must be adhered to, which includes Parker standards as well as comply to legal regulations.
The Apprentice needs to complete all homework to build their knowledge and skillset and to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship which could involve study time outside of work hours.
The Apprentice needs to follow all rules established by their managers and by Parker.
All jobs are accountable for producing a range of outputs (end results).
List 6 to 8 outputs of the job.
You will embark upon a 2-year scheme combining both practical and theoretical skills, and you will gain valuable insight into aspects of laboratory practice required to release materials to manufacture, monitor working environments, assist scientists in research and technical support activities.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to work as a member of the laboratory team.
The apprenticeship will involve day release to achieve BTEC (level 3) in a science disipline and on-the job training to achieve NVQ (level 3).
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels with a professional and flexible approach to work to support the business on a wide variety of tasks
You must demonstrate a high level of problem solving and teamworking skills to ensure efficient generation of robust data. You will be expected to participate in high performance team (HPT) activities.
You must be able to work under pressure to support production requirements as and when required applying a methodical approach with good attention to detail.
