General Description

North East Powder Coatings, part of Impress North East are looking for a level 2 paint powder coating apprentice to work at their facility in Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying powder coatings to a variety of components, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets our stringent quality standards.

Main Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply powder coatings to components using electrostatic powder coating equipment
  • Operate and maintain powder coating equipment, including ovens and spray booths
  • Prepare surfaces for coating, including cleaning, and masking
  • Ensure components are coated to the correct thickness and finish, adhering to industry and customer specifications
  • Perform quality checks on coated components, using equipment such as Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurement tools
  • If trained to do so, handle and apply a variety of wet paint systems including multi-coat systems
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards
